Attorney Michael L. Anderson joined his father, Carl, and brother, Christopher, in the practice of law in 2004, handling personal injury and workers’ compensation claims. Michael takes great pride in the fact that this is a family law firm, and he makes it a point to let each client know that his family is here to assist their family with any legal issue.
Michael earned his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Vermont Law School in 2004. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Connecticut in 1996 and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1993. He is a graduate of Norwich Free Academy, Class of 1989.
Michael is a member of the Connecticut and New London County Bar Associations and is admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut and the United States District Court, District of Connecticut, as well as the Mohegan Tribe’s Gaming Disputes Court and Tribal Court.
Michael is on the Board of Directors of Madonna Place, a Norwich non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening families and preventing child abuse and neglect in eastern Connecticut. He presently serves the Town of North Stonington as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Finance and prior to that he served on the Town’s School Modernization Committee and the Ad Hoc School Building Committee. He has coached his daughters’ rec and indoor soccer teams since 2011.
Michael is thoroughly committed to protecting a crucial component of our democracy: the civil jury system. He has tried several cases with complex liability issues, and firmly believes in the jury’s ability to listen to and understand the evidence in order to render fair, just, and reasonable verdicts. To that end, Michael is an active member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association of Justice, organizations whose main goal is to protect this most valuable institution.
He and his wife, Heather, reside in North Stonington with their amazing daughters – Ellen and Ingrid.
